About the Event

This fall, we are thrilled to share the results of our recent Facility Enhancement Week — a dedicated time to improve your YMCA experience. Thanks to the incredible efforts of our staff and the generous support of donors and community partners, we have made some exciting upgrades across our facility:

Weight Room Remodel and Cardio Equipment Upgrade– A complete transformation with a brand-new floor, upgraded equipment, and a refreshed, modern design to create a more welcoming and inspiring space for your workouts. Nearly all of our cardio machines were replaced with new, state-of-the-art equipment. We even added two new step mills — a first for the YMCA — offering our members a challenging and effective new way to train. Thank you to the generous support of our donors! Because of you, this project was possible.

Go Zone Flooring Upgrade – Our Child Care Department’s Go Zone now has a brand-new floor, providing a safe, fun, and engaging space for kids. This project was made possible through the generous support of the Ford Family Foundation.

South Pool Regrouting – Our South Pool received a much-needed refresh with new grout, making it look beautiful and ready for swimmers of all ages.

Beyond these major projects, our staff went above and beyond during Facility Enhancement Week. They put in hundreds of hours of hard work cleaning, scrubbing, painting, and reorganizing closets and storage areas to make our spaces more functional, beautiful, and welcoming than ever.

None of this would have been possible without you — our members, donors, and supporters — who make our mission possible every day. Your commitment ensures that we can continue building a place where everyone can grow stronger in spirit, mind, and body.

As we head into the new season, we invite you to come experience these improvements for yourself, connect with friends, and start your fall off with renewed energy and inspiration.

Thank you for being an essential part of the YMCA family. Together, we are creating a healthier, stronger Douglas County.

NOTICES:

  • The Y Basketball Courts will be closed starting at NOON on September 12 through September 16 for floor resurfacing. All programs in this location during this time are canceled. All other facility locations (i.e. Weight Room, Cardio Room, Courtyard, etc.) will remain open.

⚽ Volunteer Coaches Needed! The YMCA of Douglas County is seeking volunteer coaches for our upcoming Fall Youth Soccer League. No prior coaching experience is required—just a passion for helping kids learn, grow, and have fun! Coaches play a vital role in teaching teamwork, building confidence, and making this program possible. If you’re ready to make a difference on and off the field, contact jedgar@ymcaofdouglascounty.org to learn more or sign up today.

🐶 Please remember—never leave pets in your car while visiting the Y. Even on mild fall days, the temperature inside a parked car can rise quickly and become dangerous for animals. For their safety and well-being, we ask that you leave pets at home when you come to the YMCA. Thank you for helping us keep our community safe for everyone—two- and four-legged alike!

🥫 Thank You for Supporting the Food Drive! In August, the YMCA partnered with UCAN Food Bank to collect donations for local families—and together, we gathered over 211 pounds of food, enough to help feed more than 70 families in Douglas County. Thank you to everyone who contributed and made a difference in our community!

🌿 Thank you for keeping the Y a fun place for all!

We love seeing members enjoy our facility but please help us keep it safe and welcoming for everyone by following a few simple guidelines:

  • Return all equipment to its proper place after use

  • Use equipment safely and as intended

  • Do not drop weights

  • Children 12 and under must be supervised by an adult at all times
